From the Domaine Ozil website:
“Domaine Ozil is now in the hands of two brothers Jean Daniel & Thomas Ozil (5th generation). The Ozil estate is established at Mas de Bourret, a typical Ardèche dwelling located not far from Vallon Pont d'Arc. The cellar dug into the rock, next to the bread oven, the office installed in the old pigsty, the hayloft which gave way to the dwelling bear witness to a peasant history, in communion with nature. Brothers and winegrowers, Thomas and Jean-Daniel offer you natural and organic wines.”
“With the guidance of Gilles Azzoni, they were able to have the confidence to make natural wine with no added sulfites. They also farm olives, peaches, lavender & vegetables on top of their 16 hectares of vines planted mainly to grenache, syrah, viognier, marsanne & cinsault. All the farming is certified organic and they also practice biodynamic farming.”
The brothers are the first generation to make wine commercially, deciding to do so at the end of their family’s contract with the co-op.
Thomas and Jean-Daniel Ozil farm their family’s 16 hectares of vines (along with olives and in the Ardèche, close to Vallon-Pont d’Arc.
